no dash lights!!1

hello every one, i have a prblem i just bought a 200 cherokee and no cluster lights!! i start working at 6 so when i leave home still dark :(, i have check the fuses everything fine, but some times i star the motor from my room and when i go the the car the dash shifter and climate controls are on :) but as soon push the break pedal the lights go off :mad: i bought a new switch and no diference, when i have instale the new switch the previous owner make a mess in the wires con electrical tape every wire was black and sticky so i clen them off and re wire everything again and i saw two wires blue with black strip from the harness to the switch but the swicth has only one , should i twist both togeter? does anyone have a wire diagram with color code please!!!!!! i really need the the lights to drive to drive at night !!!:(
