Looking into gathering the parts for my axle swap/4.88 regear. I'm seeing that alot of ring and pinion sets are "for" a specific type of axle ie: Ford 8.8/Dana 35/44 and what not. My understanding is that a 4.88 gear is a 4.88 gear and it will go into whatever you install it in. Is this assumption correct? Thanks for the help!
