My husband and I bought a 98 Jeep Wrangler for my daughters 18th birthday. It has 106k miles, automatic, 5.5" lift, and either 33 or 35" tires. The lift is 3.5" body and 2" suspension, or this is how I understand it.
We bought the Jeep last week (private seller) and that afternoon we noticed something with the gears. When the Jeep goes into 3rd gear the RPM's go up, if you take your foot off the gas the transmission goes into 4th. Other than that the Jeep seems to run fine.
Any ideas what this could be? One of my sons friends mentioned something with a solenoid- but he likes to BS a lot and I don't know what to believe.
