Recently rebuild 2.5 with about 200 total miles on it so far. The stock gauge read right on 40 after rebuild and assumed it was good, it slowly (over the course of the 200 miles) started getting higher and higher. Tonight it was at the line right before 80 psi so I decided it was time to start asking why.
I picked up a mechanical gauge and hooked it up. I am at 60 psi at idle and it reaches a maximum of 75psi at about 4k rpm. This is when the engine is hot.
Oil and filter were replaced yesterday. Rotella 15w40.
I am thinking this is way too high right? Any ideas what might be going on?
