Steering bolt that can be tightened.

I guys. So had my wheels balanced at the weekend and noticed that the boots on my lower ball joints was torn and no grease. Little bit of play in the drivers side track rod bar, can this be tightened or adjusted as I originally thought it was the ball joint. Turns out they're both fine and its a bit of play somewhere else. Please help!, this car is ending me!!!!!
