Where to mount shocks

I've googled this and found many variations, and dont know what is stock. I'm going from SOA to SUA and am trying to figure out where the shocks mount to the U-bolt plate. I've seen in front of and behind the axle. Whats stock for a '76 CJ5?



If either is fine, whats the difference? I have the stock mounting location on the wheel well above.
