Purchased a new 2015 Sahara Unlimited this week and really need a backup camera. I've found through researching online and this site that the easiest way is to purchase a lockpic and add the camera. My question is this:
I've seen a few camera/lockpic packages that retail for $400-$500, however the lockpic itself is online for $250ish. Cameras seem really cheap, so can I purchase a lockpic and cheaper camera that will be "plug and play" and save money, or do I need one that comes in the kit in order to be plug and play?
I want to avoid having to splice wires, etc. The lockpic website says the system will allow plug and play installation of a camera, but doesn't specify if it has to be a specific make/model, or if any aftermarket camera will work.
