A couple days ago, my Jeep started making a weird noise that sounds like baseball cards on bicycle spokes or like a metal tab is touching fan blades. Tick, tick, tick, etc.
I have the NV3550 5-speed, 4.0L. It happens off and on. Usually while I'm accelerating with the clutch engaged. When I disengage the clutch (press in the clutch pedal), it goes away. Then I can Rev the engine with no ticking noise. Once, and only once, it made the noise with the clutch disengaged while I was sitting at a stop light. Usually, it's when I'm accelerating and it comes and goes when it pleases.
My father thinks it could be the throw out bearing? But he's no master mechanic, so i figured I'd ask you guys before i start spending my money. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
