I have a 2K Cherokee with a 4.0L. A week ago it developed a sputter and a slight loss of power. When it started it was intermittent, and developed into constant. Hoping for the best possible fix I put new plugs in it last night, but the problem persists.
I've owned this vehicle going on two years. I pulled the owners manual out and the previous owner had written a note that the engine and ECU were replaced at 205K, and the replacement engine had 98K on it. Vehicle has 223K on it now. Previous owner mentioned to me that he had problems with it missing and had all the sensors replaced and finally the coil rail which solved the issue.
Can anyone point me in the right direction here? Coil rail again? Injector? Cracked head?
I have noticed a slight smell of antifreeze every now and then, but it's not leaking anywhere visible.
Thanks in advance for any help your willing to give.
