Dead Pedal Missing on '15 Overland?

I got my new Overland about a month ago, and thought something felt funny on the driver's side left foot area, like there was an excess of carpet or something. Got some Husky custom-fit floor mats to put down in there and getting a closer look, it looks like the dead pedal spot was never populated. Big empty spot underneath the carpet if you push down on it, and the floor mats are shaped to have something solid there. It definitely existed on my '13 Laredo.



Anyone else experience something like this? Going to take it back to the dealer next weekend and see if they have a response but thought I'd posit the question here first. :)
