Running rough, idles fine

I did a complete tune up on it. Also put Lucas oil treatment in the engine. (It's a 2.5 4 cylinder) I also just filled it up and put the piston cleaner in it and let that run threw. In nuetral I'll rev the engine sound great. I put it in gear and idles perfect but runs really ruff when trying to increase in speed. Also I smell a lot of exhaust. ( that was also replaced last month in a shop). I'm brand new to jeep world just got it a month ago. Any advice would help.

death wobble in stock XJ

hey guys well i bought an xj from someone and he obviously lied saying it did not have death wobble; and sure enough, it did after hitting a bump going 65 mph. thought my car was just going to fall apart

anyhow, I am going to take it to some 4x4 shop that works on jeeps. I was wondering if there is anything to point them on the right direction with the DW from a 99 jeep. What could be the cause on something stock?

on top of that, I am going to buy a 4 inch lift. should I just wait for my lift instead or diagnose it now?

leaf sprung dodge Dana 60 on tj

Alright so has anyone had any luck swapping a dodge Dana 60 into their Tj with a leaf spring conversion up front??? I was looking at where the leaf purches would mount and I'd almost have to mount the leafs on the outside of the frame. Any mock ups that anyone has done that are similar in any ways???

Need ideas for a better spare tire swing gate hinge

We know the routine. The tire swing gate is tight at first and makes zero noise. Time and miles pass and its starts to rattle over even the little bumps now. Inspection shows that the holes are elongate and the bolts have grooves worn in them. You can replace the hardware or drill the holes out larger. This restores a round hole again, but for a larger bolt. Even with grease, it still happens again....even on a stock sized tire. Here's a quick visual of what we're dealing with.

So, I'm looking for ideas that involve keeping the swing gate and its mounting on the tub. I have welders, plasma cutter, saws, etc so fab work is no problem. What I'm thinking is a small set of tapered bearings top and bottom of each pivot. You could barely tighten the bolt more and it would remove ANY play. Think the same idea as your front wheel spindle and its bearings.

Has anyone seen a design like this that would be in a small enough package to be applied to this application? Any parts links, etc?
Again, please don't suggest going spareless or moving to a bumper swingout.
THANKS

Gas Tank Relocation

Anyone done a gas tank relocation to the spare tire area underneath? The rear upper control arm limits travel because it hits the factory gas tank skid
