My Ex is driving my 2K Grand Cherokee Laredo 6 cyl. It started overheating and when I checked, the electric fan was inoperative. So first, I changed the relay. Didn't work. I got a universal replacement fan and installed that. While I was working, I noticed that the kickdown cable connector at the top was cracked where the connector goes in. I used my drill and made a new hole for the connector and two smaller ones to route a zip tie. All seemed to work well BEFORE startup. So I started the engine and it idled fine. As it warmed up, the fan did kick on and was working good. As I was reattaching the grille and cleaning up, the accelerator began to go up; enough that I had to almost run to get in and turn it off. I'm completely stumped. I looked at the forum member's site that shows a replacement TV cable END that slides on without having to change the cable assy. As another member said, "hugging the transmission" is just not my bag, Baby. So I'm ready to start with that. But am I on the right track? Would the TV cable cause a crazy engine rev like that? If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. A two way, - bring her to work - 30 mile trip, twice a day is killing me! Thanks in advance!
