Let's start with the gasket itself. I took the cover off, and there was a rubber gasket that sits in the lip (Ken has a cork gasket pictured below), but no gasket or RTV around the outer edge. However, I've seen plenty of pictures of replacement AMC20 covers that ship with a larger gasket that has holes for the bolts. Are BOTH gaskets necessary/advisable?
The 2nd question is about gasket & surface prep. Obviously I need a clean surface to start with, but do I need to put any sort of sealer on either side of either/both gaskets? I realize this is a noob question, but seems like there are lots of opinions on exactly how this should be done.
This picture is stolen from Ken4444, but it illustrates what I'm talking about.
