Probably two of the most feared words on this forum. Yes I have searched and all of the answers I have found have been mixed bag. My 2000 Dirty Grand Burger (2000 Grand Cherokee Limited 4.7 Quadradrive II) just rolled over 241,XXX and needless to say her suspension is a bit tired. So of course I went out and did the only logical thing and bought a set of Wrangler wheels of the 255/70/18 variety.
Yes. I know they wont fit. The springs are sagging pretty bad, especially the rear, and she has some pretty mean droop when I try to tow my snowmobiles. The shocks are past due for replacement so I figured instead of spending about the same money to replace everything with stock stuffs I'd just do a new spring/shock kit that would lift the Jeep 2" and do whatever was necessary to squish my new tires/wheels on.
Now the issue. The front driveshaft has CV joints at each end. I am sure you are facepalming now. I have no intention of doing anymore than a 2" lift. Will the front driveshaft be an issue?
