Can't open front doors after removing door panels

I removed the two front door panels in my 2002 wj to replace the factory speakers. Upon doing so I decided to replace those vapor barriers as the stock ones were rotting away. I didn’t have time to get to it that evening, so I taped the two wire rods for the locks together so they weren’t loosely hanging off the door, and closed the doors. But now I can’t open either door from the outside, and I’m unsure of how to do it from the inside… can anyone tell me how to open them from the inside with the door panel off? The back doors are fine as I haven’t taken those door panels off yet so I can get inside the car no issue.
