Hey guys, this is my first posting here on the forums. I have a 1999 Jeep YJ, 4.2L 258 straight 6. I bought this jeep about 5 years ago and did a lot of work to it such as overhauling the tub, taking out a unsafe 3 inche lift that was done with hockey pucks.
My jeep has sat for approx 2 years in a friends barn, battery disconnected and started every month. Had to store it due to upgrading my paramedic level, buying a house and getting married all within those 2 years. I'm now looking at starting back at rebuilding my jeep. My big question is in regards to where to start ? I live in Canada and salt is used frequently to keep ice on roads down, plus I live next to the Atlantic ocean (I live in Nova Scotia). I don't have a Huge budget, approx $5000 right now for this stage of my build. I would like to strip and protect my frame due to the salt that comes in contact with it. Would removing the tub, fenders, grill be enough to do this. Or would I require a complete strip down to frame only ? Don't have my garage built at my house yet so this will be done within a temporary car shelter that can be bought at hardware stores.
I'm looking for advice from the forums on where to start. Thanks in advance for your help. ( hoping I posted this in the right spot ).
