Hello everyone . New to the XJ's and I'm existed to get started. Picked one up last night for a song and am going to get it all worked up and done. I'm giving it to my daughter, it's her first vehicle. She is super stoked! It's a 94 Cherokee 2 door automatic.
I am by no means new to Jeep in general by any stretch. I've owned several Wranglers over the years and have one that stuck around for about 14 years. So VERY familiar with 4.0 and a lot of the other stuff but XJ's are a new breed of dog for me.
This Cherokees dash has the warning lights instead of the actual gauges for the oil pressure, water temp, battery, ect. and I don't like that what-so-ever. So I was going to put in some gauge pods with the appropriate gauges. While doing some research I found an OME dash cluster for a 94 that has all the mechanical/electrical gauges. I thought man that would be a lot simpler, easier and cheaper than doing pods and aftermarket gauges.
Problem is, are they compatible? Can I take the old dash gauges out and put in the new one so that I'd have working, actual readable gauges?

The one on the bottom is the one in the Cherokee currently and the one on the top is the one I want to put in.... Is this possible to just swap them out and if so what will I have to do? Will there be a conversion that I'll have to do as far as the leads or wiring or what?
I looked them over and the backs appear to be exactly the same as well as the dimensions... pretty much everything it looks like aside from the gauges themselves.
If you've done this give a shout back please, it would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks PROSIT!!!:cheers2:
