Hello all. My name is Don and I am in San Diego. I recently came across a great deal on a '85 CJ7. I was actually looking for a '97 or newer wrangler but could not pass up this deal.
From what I can see and from the huge stack of records this Jeep has the following.
4.2L 5 speed
Superlift springs, not sure what size lift.
5 32" BFG Muds 90% tread
lock right lockers front and rear
D300 4:1 low range kit installed
Set up for dinghy towing
looks fairly rust free
New paint
New clutch
good condition front and rear seats
Superwinch hubs
Sway Bar disconnect kit
New bikini top with a new cab back enclosure too.
custom trailer hitch
All new light lenses.
has a few issues to address. Hope I can find all the solutions here.
fuel gauge is non op
brakes are soft, may need rear shoes as e-brake barely works
when i washed it, water dripped from under the dash
missing oem drivers mirror replaced with some honda mirror
heater core is bypassed
Speedo needle bounces all over
A little play in the steering
That's all i can figure for now, I've only had it 2 days.
Starts up and runs great
Hoping to find a Air Cond retro kit for it.
Looking to make some friends here and learn a lot about this Jeep, I tried to attach a couple pictures. Thanks for reading.
