pulled the trans oil pan, found a 2" pc of the snap ring that ive been reading about.... as well as a 1/4" layer of grey crud all over the magnet.

im pretty sure its the OD snap ring as that is the only gear that i can notice isnt perfect when it shifts. all else is well, no issues with park.

trans oil looks ok doesnt look or smell much different than the new stuff, all internal look mint as well.

at this point i think im gonna just drive the ***** till something gives.
sucks cause i bought this thing to tow my jetski and for a winter beater, was hoping to keep repairs to a minimum.

so my question is should i throw in the new atf 4 or the old fluid?

ive read conflicting opinions, some say the new fluid could cause more problems arise, and to reuse the old worn one.

thoughts?
