Ignition lock cylinder keeps stripping from the inside

samedi 15 août 2015

I have a 95 Jeep Wrangler and have replaced the ignition lock cylinder a few times now. I continue to try different methods of getting the cylinder to lock into place. Right now it seems that either the post that is turned by the cylinder or the cylinder itself is too short. After a few weeks of starting the vehicle the cylinder strips from where the post and cylinder connect. I have used the setscrew two out of the three times. First time the set actually prevented the cylinder from falling back into place as it normally would. The second time I filed a slit for the screw thinking it would make for a tighter connection. Still eventually stripped. Anybody have a similar problem or know of a fix to this problem.
