Service Contracts and Mechanical Breakdown Insurance

I'm looking at two "extended warranty" options for a commander with 150k miles:
1) Route 66 Mechanical Breakdown Insurance for drive train protection ("First Street" plan) for 3 years/36k miles. The cost is about $1,300. Plan details: http://ift.tt/1Ny8fKX
2) "Royal Sentinel" Service Contract for 3 years/45k miles. The cost is about $2,400. This is a step up from drive train coverage, but not comprehensive. It adds things like electrical and A/C. Sample contract: http://ift.tt/1MuKBC0

My questions are:
On average, how much in covered repairs would you expect to spend between 150k and 186k miles?
What is the average life of a transmission or engine on this 4x4 5.7L HEMI Commander?
When a major repair such as 4x4 systems, engine or transmission is needed, how much are these repairs?
Does anyone have experience with these extended warranty options? Would you recommend any of them?
