Tailgate latch bolt (?) bent

Long story short I had to remove my tailgate. I have sourced a decent condition replacement but it does not come with the bolt housing that it attaches to. I am not sure what this is called or I would most likely just order it. However in the case that I need to reuse my old one, any clue on how to remove the tailgate from it? Pictured:
