Hi,
As you can see this engine is overheating at 220 F:
Attachment 2297033
However I have tested this steak thermometer (by placing it in boiling water) and it's accurate to 1 or 2 degrees F. Now its placed in the heater hose (with the heater turned On and blowing hot air). It reads 193 F:
Attachment 2297041
Seems to me like the temperature sending unit is not calibrated with the gauge. It's a new temperature sending unit.
Is this normal on the Jeep? (5.2L 1993 ZJ)
Is there something I am missing?
Is the temperature reading at the heater hose accurate? I don't want to go cutting hoses unless I have to.
This car has all new:
1. theromostat (180)
2. radiator
3. water pump
4. exhaust system and cat.
5. heads, cam, crank.
6. both temp senders
7. fan clutch
