Fuel Filter/ fuel pump insight. Need thinkers

So, I'm gonna need some experienced advice. Over the last couple of weeks, I have tested the fuel pressure during different scenerios, which resulted in me observing fuel pressure dropping off To get you up to date, my WJ lost fuel pressure after being ran under normal conditions, for about 30 minutes. It was the same feeling as if you ran out of gas. It would slowly bog down,as if starved for fuel. This happened to me twice on the road. Both times I had to call for a tow. Here's where it gets weird......

Both times after the tow truck dropped it off at my house, my WJ started right up, as of nothing ever happened. The tow truck driver mentioned that since my car was bouncing around on his flatbed, it probably unclogged the fuel filter. He actually said that it definitely was the filter.

However, I began thinking that what if the filter was getting clogged by something in the tank, which even after replacing the filter, would again clog the filter. Also, what if something in the tank is clogging up the pump? That means I'd have to replace the fuel pump in addition to the filter.

Things to consider: vehicle was sitting for 2 years down south.

What do you all think?
