Like the title says. I have been dealing with this issue and it has been getting worse. After I drive the Jeep for 10+ min and let it set for about the same amount of time, it is having this issue for 30 sec or so.
Here is what its doing:
It will start and idle (barely) without oil pressure. It wont hardly take gas and runs like its only powering a couple cylinders or in limp mode. It will backfire a little if I floor the throttle. However, if I feather the throttle or start trying to drive it will eventually gain oil pressure and run fine. Other than that the oil pressure is fine. Does this sound like the oil pump is going. The problem has definitely gotten worse over the last year.
Its a 4.0 with 115,000 miles. New fuel pump, plugs and CPS and still having the problem.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
