Need help deciding. I will more than likely never run more than 37"-38" tires and since in AZ it's mostly playing in rocks. I have a fairly light TJ with the 4.0L and auto trans. I need to get a new front axle but not sure which way to go.
I can get a Full Size HP D44( not a Rubi 44) with Chromo shafts, CTM u-joints, an ARB with 5.13 gears, and High Steering. Also has a spare set of shafts with CTM and would also leave $ to lock the rear.
Or I could go with a HP D60 with 35 spline outers & hubs, stock inners, a Spartan locker with 4.88 or 5.13 gears and low steering, and wait to lock the rear.
What do y'all think? Is the built Dana 44 enough to handle the 37" tires without constant breakage? The thing that kinda worries me is that the D44 is maxed out with upgrades and can't get any stronger.
