Earlier this week, I took my 2013 JGC Laredo X 4x4 in to the local dealer here in Cumming to have the TSB done (5sp AT reflash), and walked out with the keys to a new 2014 JGC Limited 4x2 EcoDiesel. I liked everything about my 2013 except for the transmission, and to say it was bad was an understatement. The deal I negotiated for the trade was well beyond what I thought was possible. If my math is correct, it was as good as the DC group buy, plus $2k in rebates, and I almost received retail / private party sale value for the trade. And I get most of my MaxCare service contract on the 2013 back.
The new one: Maximum Steel / Beige, Towing Pkg, Roof, 8.4Nav, Diesel engine.
First thoughts: Torque. I've put about 200 miles averaging 24 MPG in primarily stop & go Atlanta traffic. The dealer filled the fuel tank and the DEF tank when I took delivery, but because the build date was 10/2013 (I found that odd), I figured the fuel wasn't the freshest, so I added a bottle of fuel conditioner / cetane booster, a fresh tank of Shell's best ULSD, and ran the sh*t out of it for a little bit. It now idles and runs much quieter, and pulls stronger. I'm very happy with it.
