First off, this is NOT about trying to disable it, I know there are threads on that already. I'm actually trying to figure out how it works, I suspect mine may be broken, but I'm not sure.
Basically, the clutch rod came out of the master cylinder, and in the process the safety switch slid off of the rod. It's difficult for me to tell if the safety switch is supposed to be hard mounted to the firewall, or if it is supposed to loosely slide along the clutch rod? If it's supposed to be attached to the fire wall all the time, I could easily glue it in place.
Does anyone know how this sensor works? Even though it's loose on the clutch rod (it slides back and forth), it still seems to be working. I just want to make sure it's going to continue to work. Not for my sake (I always put the clutch in unless I'm offroad on a hill), but for the sake of anyone else that may have to drive the jeep.
