heater blend doors

I have no heat, my system is the auto climate control type, took glove box off and removed the blend door actuator motor and turned the door manually and got heat immediately but nothing happens when I set the temp to high the normal way, neither drivers or passenger side gets heat.

I have a good spare act. motor which I used to test and also does nothing,

Does anyone know what exactly suppose to happen when rotating the knobs from cold to maximum heat?
