Hi guys.
I have a 2001 XJ that is having a HVAC switch problem.
I'm getting air mostly out of the defrost vent, if I switch the dial to defrost and let it run on defrost for a minute and then slowly switch back to the AC setting, the air will start coming out of the front as it should.
I know the system is vacuum controlled and sometimes the VAC lines become loose or disconnected on the actuators, mine however are still connected. Do the actuators need cleaning?
After fiddling with the HVAC selector switch, it eventually blows air from the front vents as it should, however, it defaults to defrost vents even though the switch is on upper AC setting after the engine is turned off and when ever it's restarted.
A process I have to repeat each time to get air from the upper vents. :-\
Not sure where to check the system next to get the baffle doors working as they should. It's like they get stuck.
Hope I made sense.
Thanks
