I have a stock dana 35 rear end.
Symptoms: At low speedsunder ,under 10 mph, there is a steady koonk koonk koonk.Pretty distinctive noise. Not whining.It makes the noise in forward and reverse. It sounds like it is coming from where the bearing is but without someone to help locate the sound , its hard to pin point. I am unsure if it does it at faster speeds.
I am guessing its my bearing or maybe low on gear oil. I do not want to waste the gear oil if I am goin g to have to pull the axle to change the bearing . I have searched through some pages under "rear end noise" but did not come to a diffinitive answer.
Thoughts?
