So my jeep grand cherokee limited 4.7 has 240,000 miles on her! The only problem is she blows oil when taking off from a light, on decelleration and on start ups when the engines warm. which is an indicator of valve stem seals. I would replace them but ive heard that they are "only a band aid" fix and the underlying problem is excessive valve guide to seal clearance. Is this true? or just some bull that a guy posted? because if it is i feel my jeep is near the end of its life. If i can just replace the seals and be good i would be so HAPPY! So let me know fellow jeepers if i do the valve seals will it stop my oil consumption or slow it down a lot???
