My situation is this -- I own a pre-owned Jeep XJ 2000, which seems to have been in a car crash with one of the previous owners, since if the drivers window freezes over, you can actually see that at some point, it had a writing of "Jeep Cherokee, 300 EUR" on it, and the steering wheel is changed (looks to be from an early Chrysler Voyager or something of that kind).
This new steering wheel has got cruise control buttons, but none of them seem to work. Accessing the steering wheel column through taking off the two parts of plastic that surround it, shows that for every single socket on the wheel there is a connector inserted.
My question is -- how do I check if I actually have a cruise control system in the Jeep and it's simply not working because of one reason or another,
or
if there is no cruise control at all there?
And a follow up question if I do have a cruise control system -- could you please point me towards some resources on diagnosing a not working cruise control on a Jeep XJ?
