Hi Everyone,
I wanted to pass along info for anyone that might this problem.
I have a 1999 WJ limited with the 4.0 6cyl and Quadtra Track II tranny (42 RLE). I bought this jeep a couple months ago and did not notice the vibration.
Above and below the vibration span it runs smooth as silk. It vibrated in park so I narrowed down to a motor issue. I could not figure it out so I took it in to my mechanic. We first tried to replace the harmonic balancer. That did not work. What it turned out to be was the torque converter. It was 180 degrees off. When he turned it the right way the vibration went away!!! Runs smooth as silk go through the entire RPM range. I am happy now! It was sooooo annoying.
