Locking vs lifting

jeudi 7 août 2014

Hello. I have a 04 sport (D30/44, 4.0, NV3550, 33x12.5s) and have a certain amount of money to spend on it in the next few months. I have the option of locking the front axle with a lokka, or redoing the suspension. I have only had this jeep for about 8 months, and the previous owner lifted it horribly wrong from what ive learned. Currently im running 33 duratracs with the stock springs and shocks in the back, and ~2 inches of coil spacers. In the front, I have new springs, but again, the stock shocks.

I have a line on some 2014 rubicon unlimited shocks and springs, which Im pretty sure would clear my tires in the rear, and Id buy new shocks and then budget boost the front springs.

OR

I can buy a locker for my front axle and maybe a oil pan skid plate.

What would be a better use of my money? Im from michigan, and not worried about driving on the locker. Right now I do mostly easy to medium trails, but will try just about anything. With my current set up I am afraid to disconnect my front swaybar since I figure I would destroy my shocks. Is that correct?

What would you do and why?

Thanks!
