I am planning on changing the gear lube in my transmission and wondering what to use. The manual recommends 75W90 but not sure if I should go with regular or synthetic.
Last winter when it was really cold, which was pretty much all winter, I had trouble shiftng gears because the lube would get so thick until I had driven a few miles and warmed everything up. I'm not sure if synthetic would help with that or not. I know it won't be a cure all but Just about anything would be better than last winter. I know the transmission is old and getting worn but I was hoping not to change it out just yet.
