recently the battery on my 2004 Grand Cherokee (4.7L, V8) died. i removed the battery and replaced it with a new one, the battery was disconnected for about 2 hours. After installing the new battery, the engine always idles at 1200 to 1300 rpm - prior to the battery replacement it idled fine. In addition, when using the cruise control the shift points seem all messed up compared to before and the gas mileage is down to about 12 MPG (from 19 MPG). I have disconnected the batter twice to let the computer reset, i left it disconnected for about 45 minutes last night but the high idle persists.
Does anyone have an idea as to what could be done to fix this issue?? thanks
