LEDs 2 wire on 3 wire...no blinker

mardi 22 juillet 2014

hi everyone.

i know this has been addressed many times, but i can't find the answer and i am going absolutely crazy here. let me explain my dilemma:

bought a 04 rubicon a while back that came with LiteDOT led tail lights, flat fenders and a custom stinger that had custom regular bulb blinkers up front (they were connected to 2 wires). there was never a "nervous" blinker so i figured he changed the flasher relay.

now to the problem. i sold the stinger cause i didn't like it and mounted the rock hard bumper that came off my yj, so basically no more blinker up front. so i ordered a set of those led's that you push into that little hole in the corner of the flat fender (2 wire) so when i connect the led's to the factory connector they blink but in a weird way like normal blinker speed, but the led's blink about 3 times quick, pause 3 times quick, pause and so on...

then i realized that i want to use those light as blinker as well as parking lights, which means from the 3 wire harness to the 2 wire led cables correct? i got the diodes etc. from a different thread where it describes on how to do it, but now the following:

when i turn on the hazards, everything blinks like it should. when i just turn on the parking light, everything fine there but now when i want to turn signal left or right, the arrow on the dash stays on as well as the led's in front and rear. this btw also happens when i have no blinker lights installed up front, the rear just gets brighter and stays on, no blinking. is there problem with the flasher? do you actually need something connected up front so the rear will work?

so what should i do....i got a 2 wire factory harness (which should be the turn signal that was originally on the side of the fender, blinker only correct?) and a 3 wire (which was originally the one that was connected up front , blinker and parking light...am i right?)

i hope you guys understand my dilemma, hope i put it in the right words...

thank you so much up front for the help!
