I swear I saw my stock steering do this years back but it had 80k miles on it. I got currie steering on my 2001 and noticed the tie rod at the pitman arm pops up and down like 1/16" of inch when you turn left and right. You can visibly see the gap between the boot and bottom of pitman arm expand and collapse as you turn left and right. I'm trying to track down this brief wobble (steering jerks and wobbles very quickly when hitting raised or lowered sections in the road).
So far I haven't seen any play in anything else except my axle end t-bar bushing which has a VERY TINY bit of flex from the poly bushing (it has always done that). BJ's and Bearings are new and RC's long arm has currie joints on it.
So is this up and down movement in the tie rod the possible culprit?
