I have a 99 4.0 with about 120k miles. The head is the non tuby head. I found a head from an 04 with with 75k on it out of a GC for sell. I don't know the head condition yet. They want $100. When I go to look at t, what do I check and is it worth it?
Then before I install it, I would like to take it someplace to insure it is 100% before installing. What should I have done to it or what should I ask be checked on it?
If I get it, how hard is it to change the head myself or should I have a shop do it? What worries me, is noting is broken so is my good intentions going to cause me problems, if it aint broke don't fix it theory. I also have a bad lifter noise, so that would be a good time to change my lifters as well to fix that problem. Any advice would be great.
