experiences with shackle lifts vs stock setup? planning lift

First and foremost, any experience is welcome here, even if it comes from your cousins husbands best friends babysitter.

I've asked this before but my money keeps going elsewhere (hello school)... anyways I just moved home and got a job with a 2x pay raise so I thought I'd start truly making a shopping list.

alright the meat... :

standard leafs in the back

OR

leafs with shackle relocation and longer shackle...

both adding to the same lift height

MAXMAXMAX lift I ever want to go to is 5" preferably settling to 4.5" after a year. Im trying to build an expedition rig, as in, streets well, handles terrain, tolerates unpaved roads at speed, and most importantly is canadian winter safe and ready. The very end goal is running 35's reliably.

I've read that shackle relocation and a longer shackle will (along with the obvious more droop) improve comfort, I've also read that your leafs WILL wear out sooner, really not concerned with that since I plan to move into an economy car for DD after I get a big boy job in a year.

A few questions:

1. Will the shackle relocation and longer shackle improve comfort over the normal setup?

2. Will a shackle lift make the ride quality worse as opposed to just running a relocation bracket?

2. if you're running a shackle lift do you want a stiffer or softer leaf?

3. How significantly does a shackle lift wear out your leafs?

Also I have a few brands in mind, OME with their ~3 inch leaf, rusty's or claytons (being 4.5"). I love the prices on rusty's, all the negative reviews ive read were around 10 years old by now as well. OME I've only heard amazing stuff.

feel free to piggy back my thread as well.
