I know there are many threads discussing various idle issues but I could not match my problem to any of them. I have a 1975 CJ5 4.2l with the YF single barrel carb with electric choke. It idles great when warming up but when it gets up to temperature it will bounce between 600-700 rpms. The Jeep will run great with no problems, it is just when it idles that I notice the difference. I looked for vacuum issues and cannot locate any. Funny thing happened though, usually when you spray a little cleaner in the intake, the RPMs increase. When I did it, the engine acted like it wanted to choke and stall.
Any ideas where I might look to solve this idle issue?
