So my mom called me when she was driving to work saying that her Jeep was slipping and i thought it was the transmission and i said i would come to her work and look at it, but she made it and it drove fine after so she said not to come..
But when she was trying to leave work the Jeep wouldnt start she said, so i had to drive to her and i pulled the code P0320, and i managed to get it to start by resetting the computer, and instead of leaving her car to be towed in the parking garage i took a chance and drove it on the freeway back home, but halfway through i had to take an exit and park it in a grocery store parking lot.. because it kept dying and eventually i lost all power and had to pull over on the freeway, i managed to get it to run enough to take the exit, and i had to make a u-turn to get to the parking lot and it died in the middle of the u-turn so i had to jump out really quick and push the car holding the wheel so i wouldnt get hit... Then it started again and i floored to the parking lot in time..
The Jeep stalls mid driving rpms shut off and i lose power everything, and it then it starts back by itself, and dies again and repeats it non stop its very very weird actually.. Like it i can hear the engine vroom then .... vrooom .... and eventually it dies and cranking it over and over wont start it and then sometimes itll start but then die a second later..... Cant be good for the engine and transmission to do that 50mph on the freeway..
Im not sure what this could be.. Im thinking its the crank shaft position sensor on the transmission belhousing.. what do you guys think ?
If it is this sensor... how the hell do you get to it ?? I can reach the plug which is behind the oil filter, but there is no way i can reach any further by trying from up top... So is this one of those sensors i have to go under the Jeep and go by feel to unbolt and remove ?? Also will a sensor from an autoparts store be sufficient or this another one of those picky *** sensors that need to come from the dealership.
Where is the sensor located im going crazy looking through google.. is it on the drivers side or the passenger side ?? And what size bolts does it have ? Or is it screws if so what size.. This is driving me nuts.. So many people "replace" theres but no one mentiones where the sensor is lol
