Been here for a while but this is the first time I've had a question I couldn't find using the search function. So, here it goes....
I have a 2002 WJ Limited, 4.7L w/QuadraDrive. Is it possible to read the transmission temp using an OBD2 adapter? From what I understand, the trans temp data is part of the Chrysler proprietary protocol, and not the standard OBD2.
I'm using iOS so the OBD2 adapter would have to be wifi. There a zillion of them out there (OK, maybe not quite that many) but I'd like to know of any specific models that can read the Chrysler proprietary databus stuff. The descriptions on a lot of the adapters is weak/sketchy so I'd like to stick with something that is known to work.
I know, I could just install a dedicated trans temp gauge, and I'll probably do that for the long-term anyway. The OBD2 adapter would be nice so I don't have to drill holes.
Thanks!
