87 cherokee cooling system

Ok so I bought my first cherokee finally been wanting to for many years it ran perfect the first few weeks but one day I went to start it and it was dead jumped it ran it for a while turned it off then checked and it started no problem then I took my recycles in and left it running to charge it somemore then I noticed antifreeze pooring out everywhere on the passenger side checked the temp gauge it was about 210 on the gauge wich was hot for my jeep its been running right under the 1/4 mark 100 something really low anyway changed the thermastat to a really low temp because of what ive heard about them running hot so now im stumped I have a new baby and cant afford to dump money into yet I dont know if my temp gauge is working correctly or something else I checked the oil the other day because it leaks oil as well and I thought there was water in it but I checked it again and its clean my electric fan doesnt kick on either any help would be appreciated
