Help! Loud clicking from front axle.

samedi 25 juillet 2015

I have a 2000 v8 WJ and recently I've been able to focus my attention from the engine bay to getting the 4x4 working. When i bought it the 4x4 wasn't working (no front drive shaft and t-case was shot) but i figured i could figure it out. I got a new front drive shaft, used 247 t-case and thought i was gonna be good. I installed the t-case and drive shaft making sure to use Mopar fluid and took it out for a test drive. I started hearing a loud clicking/flapping noise coming from what sounded like the front left tire. But never heard it prior to installing the front drive shaft. So i removed the front drive shaft to try and isolate the issue between the used t-case and front diff. and sure enough the sound went away. So I figured it was the front differential having issues when torque was being applied. I took her to a good drive line shop and had both front and rear differentials and drive shafts checked. both in great condition, same gear ratio, everything was up to factory specs. They pointed me to the used t-case. So i replaced it with a certified rebuilt and still hearing the same noise anytime i accelerate. It gradually goes away when i just coast or get up to about 45 (wind noise and mud tires might be drowning it out). But weirdly when I go below 5mph I don't hear it unless i cut my wheels sharp to the left (haven't tried turning to the right idk why) then it's extremely loud tick once per revolution. I'm stuck and don't want to throw money at the problem and hope it goes away haha. I was thinking it could be the CV axles but I've never heard of them clicking while going straight but this is my first Jeep :D. Most of my experience comes from an old camry haha. any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
