Today I bought a new water neck for this 4.0 and the head is a 92. I'm using temp sensor hardware from a 258 that seems to go to the back of the head just fine. My issue is there is less than 1" clearance between the front temp sensor plug and the edge of the bracket. I know I need this temp sensor for the computer to function properly but I also need to keep this V-belted or else I open up an entirely new universe of problems starting with my battery cage and the fender well. I've tried using an elbow pipe fitting but I somehow managed to strip the straight fitting that was in the angle. :laugh: What is the real solution to this?
My current attempt at working around this is to seal off the front port with a pressure plug, move the sensor to the same location as the temp gauge sensor and share the port with a LOT of adapter fittings. I don't recommend it.
