I just got AC installed in my 2004 Sport, inline 6. It's wonderful and works, but works on every dial position, even on the two that should be vent only. The heat also works great. So all in all, I'm happy.
The kit was a Jeep Air kit, and I had my mechanic install it. He wants to go over the wiring again to make sure it''s per the schematic and see if maybe there's a bad switch, but thought it might be that the computer needs to be reflashed at the dealer.
I asked the dealer about reflashing, but he sort of chuckled and said there was no new firmware to flash because my Jeep is so old. And asked if I wanted to trade her in on a new one. (Uh, NO)
So my question is, is it really impossible that it's a computer issue as the dealer says?
My mechanic says the only issue with it running on all settings is a possible reduction of MPG (which I haven't really seen).
