Got my moser axles in today. Setting up per instructions say to insert the bearing spacer into axle housing and then insert wheel bearing and measure amount bearing sticks out end of housing. Says bearing should stick out of housing between .020-.080" and to grind spacer to achieve that dimension. With the spacer in housing and bearing inserted I have .275" of bearing sticking out on both sides of housing. Is it normal to have to cut around .225" off of the spacer to get it right. I know I have in pushed in far enough because I can tell that the spacer is bottoming out on the shoulder where the seal starts to press in. There is a small space between the bearing spacer and the front surface of the inner seal. Anybody had this issue that can help? Trying to get bearings pressed on axle tomorrow so I need to try to machine these spacers while im at work tomorrow. Thanks
normal amount to grind bearing spacer on moser 1pc axle installation? ?
